Open the Front Door resource here:

Press the door bells and decide what instrument is playing the sounds.

Now identify the sequences.

This is the same exercise as last week but with instruments making the sounds.

How can a piano sound like a pig? You'll see!

Ready for Level 3?

If your class are ready for the next level you can try Level 3 here:

OPEN RESOURCE IN NEW TAB

Again, this is the same listening exercise but with a combination of different instruments to make it more difficult.

These activities will change every time you play, so you can try these a number of times.

Performing - 10 Minutes

We can now repeat the performance exercise from last week!

Follow the instructions until you reach this page:

Divide the class into four colour groups: Red, Yellow, Green and Blue.

Each group will have to make their sound when the student at the whiteboard points to their colour.

The "conductor" at the whiteboard

The student at the whiteboard will be responsible for making the class make their sound and in what order. They will need a pointer of some sort.

As different students get up to conduct the class, suggest different ways of conducting:

  • fast
  • slow
  • loud (big movement to point at a symbol)
  • soft (small movement)
  • slow and getting faster
  • repeating symbols

This activity can go on as long as there are volunteers wanting to be the conductor.

The symbols can also be switched using the change symbols button.
